Meet Paul

Describe what you do at Grace.

It is a delight to serve as the Worship Pastor here at Grace Bible Church. I love joining voices with the body as we worship our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ! My wife and I also lead & host the Sacramento Community Group

What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Grace?

At a young age, my dad taught me many things including how to play the guitar. Our family was a musical family and we often loved singing songs together. After immigrating to the United States, I graduated from Sacramento State University with a BA in Organizational Communication. Continuing my education and desiring to grow in my pastoral training, I attended The Cornerstone Bible College & Seminary in Vallejo California where I graduated with a Master of Divinity. From 2013-2016 I actually served as a Pastoral Intern here at Grace, and after completion, I did my 3-year residency at River Grace Grace Community Church. At the conclusion of my time there, the Lord brought us back to GBC to serve full-time.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?

Proclaiming and exalting the glories of the calvary and shepherding others to see and know Christ as their Lord, Savior, and Treasure. (1 Peter 2:9)

Tell us about your family.

Before I was an intern at Grace, I served alongside my now wife Elly in the music ministry, and by God's continued grace, we married in 2014. The Lord blessed us with three very active children - Jane, Mila & Titus - with a 4th on the way this fall!

Briefly, describe how you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

I grew up in a Christian home in the care of faithful parents. My father was a loving pastor who pointed me to God's Word and prayed for me. Even though I did not come to know the Lord until I was a teenager. I remember how the Lord brought different trials in my life in order to humble me and show me that this life is pointless without Christ and that I’m in desperate need of grace. After attending the Resolved Conference in 2005, the Lord has graciously worked on my heart and I began to see the Holiness of God and my sin and the only hope I have in Christ to save me. The most important thing in my life is how my heavenly Father loved me and sent His Son to save me from the wrath of God. God also gave me a hunger for His Word, and passion to see others get to know Christ which ultimately brought me to pursue seminary! The gospel is my main cause for life and whatever I do I desire to be a herald of the good news!

What is the best lesson you learned from your parents?

Through their example, I learned to love and cherish the local church. To strive to walk in humility and peace with all men.

What is something someone would be surprised to know about you?

I was born in Siberia, in a city called Vorkuta “Gulag” Komi Republic, situated just north of the Arctic Circle - let’s just say it’s cold out there! I also lived in 4 different countries by the time I was 13!

What could we find you doing on your days off?

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, playing sports, and I love music so much, I continue to play wherever I go!
