Describe what you do at Grace.
I am the Senior Pastor, responsible for the primary teaching during our worship services.
What experience, education, and/or work background do you bring with you to Grace?
I’ve been in pastoral ministry for 35 years having studied pastoral studies in college, then gaining a Master of Divinity degree from seminary, and finally earning a Doctor of Ministry degree. I love the church and find interaction with the Body of Christ enlivening.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to ministry?
The power and authority of the Word of God. Watching people’s lives be transformed by grace through the Word is a great joy in ministry.
Tell us about your family.
My wife and I have reared 5 children who, by the grace of God, are walking with Christ and married to fine Christian spouses.
Briefly, describe how you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
I was raised by godly parents who pointed me toward Christ from my earliest days. My father, a pastor in PA, led me to Christ in his office. I was truly convicted of my sin and became desperate to gain forgiveness. I was convinced that forgiveness was available only through faith in Christ and repentance before Him. I was saved by grace through faith and have grown in my faith since that great day of salvation.
What could we find you doing on your days off?
working with wood - I love woodworking - cabinets, furniture, etc ...
What is your favorite sport or sports team?
Baseball - SF Giants (of course!)
What is the best lesson you learned from your parents?
The love of Christ
Among your friends or family, what are you famous for?
Being a perfectionist (but they’re inaccurate!)
